OVERVIEW

The NSF STELLAR Engine in the Rochester/Finger Lakes Region of New York is advancing a portfolio of core, use-inspired R&D projects.

STELLAR will achieve new levels of power, precision, and performance over the next 10 years. R&D advancements will create the next generation of laser-based systems with innovations informed by market needs and opportunities. End-to-end capabilities will include materials, engineering, advanced packaging, applications development, and systems integration. Capacity building across these areas is critical to scale laser systems into critical market applications. This platform is leveraging existing R&D capacity and manufacturing facilities, with the STELLAR investment adding new infrastructure.
