OVERVIEW
STELLAR will align a portfolio of core, use-inspired R&D projects.
Anchored by the University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, and AmeriCOM, these core projects will achieve new levels of power, precision, and performance over the next 10 years. R&D advancements will create the next generation of laser-based systems with innovations informed by market needs and opportunities. End-to-end capabilities will include materials, engineering, advanced packaging, applications development, and systems integration. Capacity building across these areas is critical to scale laser systems into critical market applications. This platform will leverage existing R&D capacity and manufacturing facilities, with the STELLAR investment adding new infrastructure.
